So, I've never taken a photography class, but enjoy it immensely. I have a Canon Rebel EOS, and would like to invest in a nice lens. I'm thinking about fisheye, but I'm not sure that's the most practical choice. Any sort of wide-angle would be nice.

This is where I need help. No one in my family is interested in photography, and the internet doesn't give me a personal view. Can anybody direct me as to which lens I should invest in?
